IAMLUFBRA Goes Live!

The much anticipated launch of IAMLUFBRA happen last night in front of a pack Loughborough Union crowd at Hey Ewe, with the unveiling of the second video announcing the dates for the 'Real' Varsity Rugby Match (Loughborough v Bath), the Dan James Memorial Rugby Match (Loughborough v England U20's) and the Loughborough International Athletics (LIA). IAMLUFBRA has been built on a strong social marketing campaign with over 3000 people joining the Facebook page in 2 weeks!

The hope is that IAMLUFBRA can create a stronger feeling of community between Loughborough students, as well as providing some great merchandise.

Street Athletics 2010

This years Street Athletics will be kicking off at the end of June, with this year's set to be bigger and better than ever! This year SA are launching a social marketing strategy as well as a new website and blog. Here at 5or6 we are very excited to be working with Linford Christie and Street Athletics for the third year in a row. Over the next few months there will be a new Street Athletics Facebook page, Twitter account, blog and website to try and reach as many 12 to 18 year olds who want to compete in this years competition.

Uni Football takes the leap into cyberspace

England Universities Football programme has taken massive strides in the last few years, with numerous players going pro, and many others turning semi pro over the last few years. The most recent being former Wolverhampton University colossal center back Exodus Geohaghan joining Peterborough in January and former UWE Hartpury player Matt Smith joining Robbie Fowler in Australia at Queensland Fury FC.

5or6 have been heavily involved with in the programme over the last few years, yet inn recent weeks programme has begun to develop its on line presents, with a new Blog, Twitter account and Facebook fan page, all being set up to try on draw attention to one of the most successful University sports programmes around.

Over the next few months there will be many more updates regarding the England Universities Football programme as they bid to push more and more players into the professional game. Watch this space.

Being a design consultancy and constantly having to search out new technologies out there, you often stumble across a few gems (and quite a few pieces of deadwood), that not only aid your work yet make it easier and far far quicker. This makes it so much easier to update everything in one go and get your voice out there on the net. Social Networking is one of the fast growing ways to connect to your customer and having a platform in which you can reach them instanly is always a plus! So give Netvibes a go, or you can always search out your own Social Networking gem, it will save you time, effort and most certainly stop you from seeing that frustrating little character the Twitter 'Fail Whale'.
